LiveWell Schools

LiveWell Catawba helps to create and support a culture of wellness in school environments across the community by utilizing a coordinated approach. A coordinated school health approach is designed to help students grow into healthy and productive adults by focusing on their physical, emotional, social, educational development through a working partnership between schools and the community.

Alliance for a Healthier Generation: Healthy Schools Program

LiveWell Catawba is an intermediary partner with the Alliance for a Healthier Generation to provide local technical assistance for the Healthy Schools Program. The Alliance for a Healthier Generation’s Healthy Schools Program provides a framework to help create and sustain a healthy school.

Healthy schools experience higher attendance rates, greater academic success, increased family engagement, and reduced staff turnover. Through our partnership with the Alliance, LiveWell Catawba is able to leverage a platform, process, expertise, and resources that serve as a foundation for our school-led support and technical assistance. When repeated each year, the Healthy Schools Program 6-Step Process helps solidify healthy policies and practices and strengthen the culture of health within the school community.

By participating in the Healthy Schools Program, schools are eligible to receive resources and assistance to create and support a culture of wellness within their schools. For more information on the Healthy Schools Program visit: https://www.healthiergeneration.org/our-work/schools
